World Students' Day celebrated across three districts

In a spirited celebration of World Students Day, Assam Rifles, under the aegis of IGAR (South), organized a series of educational and cultural events across Chandel, Imphal and Tengnoupal districts on October 15 .
As per an IGAR (S) release, in Chandel district, the celebrations were held in the villages of Aibol Joupi, New Samtal, Wayang, Tuitong, and Sehlon.
Drawing the appreciation of the local communities, the events included a motivational lecture that provided students with guidance on career opportunities and personal growth, a lively drawing and painting competition and students eagerly exploring books from a mobile library.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, students also performed cultural dances while a volleyball tournament brought out their sportsmanship.
With 278 participants, the events reflected strong community engagement and support.
In Imphal West, Assam Rifles celebrated World Students' Day at the Vocational Guide School, Sangaithel, with the participation of over 400 students.
Activities organised by the Assam Rifles included a motivational movie screening, a lecture on Armed Forces career opportunities and distribution of sports equipment.
A session on drug abuse prevention was also held, raising awareness about dangers associated with this social-ill.
The event concluded with an informal tea session, fostering camaraderie between students and Assam Rifles personnel.
Simultaneously, in Tengnoupal district, Assam Rifles honoured the legacy of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, former President and DRDO Scientist, with a special lecture on the "Importance of Education in Life" at Dr Colvin Academy School in Moreh.
A total of 80 students and villagers, including those from nearby Haolenphai village, attended the event, which emphasized the transformative power of education in national development.
The session inspired the attendees to strive for excellence and contribute positively to society.
The celebration ended with interactive games and refreshments, concluded the IGAR (S) statement.
