Traffic advisory issued for 'Great Uprising/Unity Day' at Kekrupat

Imphal, June 16 2026: The Traffic Control Police Wing, Manipur, has issued a traffic advisory for the observation of The Great Uprising/Unity Day at Kekrupat on June 18, 2026, to ensure smooth traffic regulation and public safety.

The arrangements will remain in force from 5 am until the conclusion of the function, with exemptions for emergency service vehicles.

Vehicles from Mayai Lambi via Singjamei Chinga, Thoubal side via Singjamei bridge, and Wangkhei side will drop passengers at Hafiz Hatta Road and park at Palace Compound Ground.

Those from Lamlong, Sekmai, and Thangmeiband side will drop at Khonang Ani Karak and park around Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

Vehicles from Uripok, Sagolband, Tiddim, and Mayai Lambi side will drop at Khuyathong or Khonang Ani Karak and use Khuman Lampak Sports Complex for parking.

General traffic will not be restricted except near Kekrupat, specifically the stretch between North AOC Traffic Island or LIC crossing and the eastern side of Minuthong.

Only officials' vehicles and earmarked vehicles for the 18 victims will be permitted on this stretch.

To avoid congestion, vehicles ferrying the public will be diverted at key points: Thoubal-bound vehicles at Singjamei bridge; Singjamei Chingamakha-Heirangoithong traffic at Singjamei Chinga crossing towards Pishumthong; Tiddim and Mayai Lambi vehicles at Keishampat Junction towards Wahengbam Leikai; and Sagolband, Uripok, Thangmeiband vehicles at Uripok Thongkha and Khuyathong Junction towards Nagamapal and Khonang Ani Karak.

The SP, Traffic Control Police Wing, has sought public cooperation for the safe conduct of the event.
