Mount Everest College celebrates its Annual Cultural Meet / Inter-Departmental Day

Mount Everest College celebrated its Annual Cultural Meet-cum-Inter-Departmental Day today at the college auditorium, under the theme 'Roots of Tradition, Wings of Innovation' .
The programme was organised by the Cultural Committee in collaboration with all Academic departments, and Co-Curricular Committee of the Mount Everest College.
Meithuanlungpou Gonmei, the Vice-pincipal of the college in his keynote address emphasized the 3Ps - Preserve, Practice, and Promote - as essential ways to keep one's culture alive without allowing it to be assimilated into others.
The programme comprises three competitive events: Traditional Fire Making, Choral Singing, and Departmental Activity.
In the Traditional Fire Making competition, the Department of Political Science and the Department of Zoology secured the first and second positions, respectively, while the Department of Sociology and the Department of Commerce jointly attained the third position.
In the Choral Singing competition, the Department of Botany, the Dept of Sociology, and the Dept of English secured the first, second, and third positions respectively.
In the Departmental Activity Competition, wherein each department presented a performance aligned with their respective academic discipline, the Department of Zoology was conferred the Most Creative Award for their presentation titled "The Journey of Mankind".
The Department of Sociology received the Most Realistic Award for their thought-provoking performance, "Lost in the Virtual Haze" .
The Most Inspiring Award was awarded to the Department of Physics for their exceptional presentation, "Optics Unveiled: The Science of Light and Vision".
The Best Presentation Award was bestowed upon the Department of English for their powerful and evocative "Dramatic Recital of Maya Angelou's "Still I Rise".
The event showcased remarkable cultural activities, celebrating departmental creativity, realism, inspiration, and impactful presentations across disciplines.
