Imphal, November 15 2025:
A 1-day brain storming discourse on "Peace, Normalcy, Harmony & Progress" was successfully conducted today at the Thangjing Hall of Manipur Press Club, Imphal.
The inaugural function of the discourse, organised by the Leishem Pathou, was graced by dignitaries, including Dr Haobam Indrakumar, retired Associate Professor (Political Science), Modem College; Hemantakumar Ningombam, editor, Wayel Kati; social activist Ashang Kasar and Advocate Hijam Chandrakumar.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashang Kasar lamented the political games played by MLAs over the formation of a popular Government in the State.
"Will Meeteis be able to visit Kangpokpi and Moreh if a popular Government is formed in the State", he asked.
He also stated that if all the MLAs take a single resolution and work for the betterment of the State, the people and civil bodies will naturally follow their lead.
"The failure to bring peace and normalcy in the State for more than two years is mainly because the MLAs have failed to set aside their personal interest and political differences", he claimed.
Ashang further asserted that the 49 MLAs have failed to take a firm stand and pressure the Central Government to take necessary measures to ensure free movement on the National Highways, end the prolonged conflict and restore peace & normalcy in the State which has been burning for more than two years.
