Governor instructs DG to ensure free passage of NHs

Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya today reviewed the current law and order situation in the State during which he directed the DGP to take up special measures to ensure free passage along the National Highways.
The Governor convened a security meeting along with Special Chief Secretary MH Khan, Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, DGP Rajiv Singh, GOC 57 Mountain Division, IGAR (S), representatives of IB and officers of other paramilitary forces at Raj Bhavan this evening.
The Governor reviewed the overall security arrangement taken up to control any situation at any point of time in the State.
Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh and DGP Rajiv Singh briefed the Governor about the security arrangements made in the State after ethnic violence erupted on May 3, 2023 .
Discussions for smooth passage of goods laden vehicles along the National Highways were also discussed in the meeting and Lakshman Prasad Acharya directed the DGP to take up steps to allow free flow passage along the National Highways.
The Governor also enquired the Special Chief Secretary about the progress of ongoing construction works on NH-2 and NH-37 .
He also directed the officers of Central security forces to extend maximum cooperation to the administration and the State security apparatus.
