PMFME Scheme's seed capital distributed

Under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation Of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, seed capital funds were distributed to the beneficiaries of Imphal East district today.
Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East, handed over the cheques to the representatives of Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) during a "PMFME Scheme-Seed Capital Distribution Programme" organised by the District Mission Management Unit (DMMU), Imphal East, Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM), Department of RD&PR, Government of Manipur.
The programme held at Panchayat Bhawan, Imphal East Deputy Commissioner Office Complex in Porompat, was attended by Dr N Johnson Meitei, Additional District Magistrate, Imphal East; and K Ronglo, State MisSion Manager, Non Farm Livelihoods, MSRLM; representatives of different Self Help Groups (SHGs), Village Level Federation (VLFs) and CLFs of Imphal East district.
Speaking on the occasion, L Ronglo said that the PMFME Scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme launched by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries in 2020 to boost the micro-food processing sector by providing financial and technical support, promoting technology upgradation, and helping unorganized enterprises transition into formal frameworks.
He shared that the scheme offers credit-linked subsidy, training, common infrastructure access, and support for branding and marketing to individual microenterprises, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Self Help Groups (SHGs), and cooperatives, aiming to increase their competitiveness and integrate them into the organised supply chain.
"A total seed capital of Rs 75,20,000 will be distributed to 199 beneficiaries of Imphal East district", said L Ronglo while adding that loan benefits will also be given to dedicated and successful beneficiaries.
