Kapaam Baptist Church SSC celebrates golden jubilee

The Kapaam Baptist Sunday School Children (SSC) Ministry organised its golden jubilee celebration at the premises of Kapaam Baptist Church in Kapaam village under the theme "Rooted in Christ" .
The Sunday School Children Ministry was established in 1976 .
The golden jubilee celebration began with the hoisting of the flag by Th Marygrace, the first SSC teacher and the unveiling of the monument by Rev Ngoruw Philia, Pastor.
The main celebration, which took place inside the Kapaam Baptist Church, began with a curtain raiser by Primary and Junior Sunday School Children.
In his welcome address, Rev Dr Adoreson Khartu, Convenor, Programme Committee of the jubilee, recalled that the Kapaam Baptist Church School Children's Ministry was first introduced on February 4, 1976 by Pastor Ngoruw Hachung and the church leadership of that era.
This initiative paved the way for the establishment of a Sunday school for the children, he said.
In the early days, teachers Th Marygrace and R Laden, guided a group of 10-20 children, and over the past five decades the Ministry has faced numerous hardships and challenges, particularly in conducting classes at various locations, Dr Khartu maintained.
Giving the exhortation, Rev Pheliboy Role, executive secretary, MYNBA, highlighted the theme of the day and stated that children today should be rooted in Jesus Christ.
He congratulated the SSC Ministry, the teachers and all those involved in the success of the Ministry and the celebration.
The jubilee was marked by a series of performances such as dances, songs and hymns and skits by the students of the Sunday School Children Ministry.
Presentations and gifts were also given to the teachers of the Sunday School Children Ministry.
