Tamenglong, October 09 2026: The Tamenglong Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) in a statement has clarified in connection with a video circulated on social media on October 5, 2026, regarding the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Tamenglong District Headquarters, particularly concerning precast Household Tap Connection stands reportedly found stacked at a village site.

Upon field inspection and verification, the area has been identified as Chakatdai, a habitation of Chiulon Khongjaron Khunkha village covered under JJM.

The precast stands shown in the video stacked at Chakatdai village were damaged during handling and transportation, requiring minor repairs and fittings, and are to be provided for the remaining households.

Out of 40 households, 30 households have been provided with tap water connections.

The Assistant Engineer, Tamenglong PHE Division, has inspected, verified the site and is taking necessary steps, in coordination with the Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) and the village community, to provide tap drinking water connections to the remaining households.

The Department is committed to providing safe drinking water to all households and appeals for cooperation, community participation, and water conservation activities to ensure the sustainability and successful implementation of the scheme.
