Imphal, August 09 2025: The Working Committee of Kuki Civil Society Organisations (WCKCSOs) has announced immediate withdrawal of its economic blockade along National Highway-2 in Kangpokpi district.

WCKCSOs, in a press note, said that the decision to lift its economic blockade was taken following the lifting of a 20-plus-day blockade against Kuki-Zo commuters between Kangpokpi and Churachandpur.

The committee acknowledged the intervention of Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla in opening the blockade called by Foothills Naga Coordination Committee (FNCC) .

Expressing its gratitude to United Naga Council (UNC) 'in localising the current issue and upholding humanitarian principles, WCKCSOs added that it will not allow any organisation to dictate terms along 'our lifelines' .

The committee appealed to their people to be always prepared to voice their democratic protests if and when necessitated.
