Imphal, April 09 2025:
The 55th foundation day of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) was observed at Congress Bhavan, Imphal.
The event was organised by NSUI Manipur State Unit.
Speaking on the occasion, Joyson Kh, president, NSUI Manipur State Unit, asserted that NSUI has worked consistently for the rights of the student community and for their empowerment in India.
He said that NSUI was founded by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi with the objectives of improving the education system and creating a better and stronger country.
Joyson Kh accused the Central Government of increasingly privatising and commercialising the education sector and posing a threat to the federal structure of the Indian political governance system.
As a result, due to the increasing costs of education, underprivileged and middle class families are facing challenges in educating their children, said Joyson.
The Preamble to the constitution of India has been removed from some textbooks.
Incompetent non-academic individuals have been appointed in prominent positions through backdoor tactics which has brought down the standard of education in Manipur, he accused.
In view of such circumstances, he assured that NSUI will continue to work relentlessly for the welfare of students and to bring a better education system.
