Frontal bodies of four Naga Hill districts back UNC's Trade Embargo

Frontal organizations of four Naga hill districts - Senapati, Ukhrul, Tamenglong, and Chandel have extended their support to the proposed Trade Embargo called by the United Naga Council (UNC), which is set to begin from midnight of Septembers.
Among the organizations endorsing the embargo are the Naga People's Organization (NPO), Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) and Senapati District Women's Association (SDWA) from Senapati district, Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), TNAL, TKS, TMNL, TSL, Ato, Aze, Zingsho, Zingtun Longphang from Ukhrul district, Joint Tribes Council (JTC), Joint Tribes Women's Association (JTWA) and Joint Tribes Students Association (JTSA) consisting the Inpui, Liangmei, Rongmei and Zeme tribes of Tamenglong district, and Chandel Naga People's Organization (CNPO), 11 Naga Tribe Hohos, Naga Students' Union, Chandel (NSUC), Naga Chiefs Association, Chandel (NCAC) and Tribe Women's Union of Chandel district.
In a letter of endorsement, the Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO), 11 Naga Tribe Hohos, Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC), Naga Chiefs Association Chandel (NCAC), Tribe Women's Union and all sector units of Chandel, reaffirmed their commitment to the embargo, describing it as a collective movement to safeguard the Naga people's rights, identity, and ancestral territories.
The statement mentioned that the Trade Embargo reflects the Naga people's determination to assert their rights and preserve their ancestral land and cultural heritage, safeguarded and defended from time immemorial.
It further stated that the embargo would continue to affect all Naga-inhabited areas until their voices of the Naga people are acknowledged and addressed.
The statement also appealed to all stakeholders and the general public to co-operate and support the movement, terming it as a rightful cause of the Naga people.
Earlier, the apex civil bodies of Senapati district, Ukhrul district and Tamenglong district were issued to support the Trade Embargo called by the United Naga Council (UNC) .
