Sunusiphai farmers honoured for excellence in natural farming

Gokul Natural Farming felicitated farmers of Sunusiphai village in Bishnupur district for achieving high crop yields through natural farming during a training programme organised to promote sustainable agriculture.
The programme was held following the recognition of Sunusiphai as a chemical-free village by the Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, Gokul Natural Farming proprietor and retired PHED Executive Engineer Laishram Gokulchandra said the recognition of Sunusiphai as a chemical-free village is a significant milestone in promoting eco-friendly agriculture.
He assured that Gokul Natural Farming would continue supporting and encouraging farmers who adopt natural farming practices.
The natural farming training programme was attended by experts from CAU, Imphal, including Prof Th Robindro Singh of the Department of Entomology, Dr Sumitra Phurailatpam, Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology, Dr Devarishi Sharma, Assistant Professor of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, and Dr Diana Shamurailatpam, Agronomist from the Department of Agronomy, among others.
As part of the programme, five farmers who recorded the highest productivity through natural farming were felicitated with gifts in recognition of their achievements, while six other farmers received consolation prizes for their efforts.
