Financial literacy camp on PMFBY held at Lambung

Chandel, August 07 2026:
The State Bank of India (SBI), Chandel Branch, under the aegis of the DEA Fund, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), in collaboration with theCRISIL Foundation's Centre for Financial Literacy (CFL), Chandel, organised a Financial Literacy Awareness Camp on the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) at Lambung village in Chandel district on Friday.
The programme aimed to create awareness among farmers about the benefits of PMFBY, the flagship crop insurance scheme of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, which provides insurance coverage against crop losses and seeks to reduce the premium burden on farmers while ensuring timely settlement of insurance claims.
The awareness camp was attended by SBI Chandel Branch Manager Nelson Aimol, District Agriculture Officer (DAO) Chandel Sp Lovejoy, Lead District Manager (LDM), RBO, Altias Ahumshang, CRISIL Centre Manager Felix, Lambung village chief Lh Noah and members of the village authority.
Addressing the gathering, Nelson Aimol thanked the villagers for their enthusiastic participation and active cooperation.
The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which experts addressed queries raised by the participants.
