E-Pao Tengbang Lup to honour journalists

Imphal, July 07 2026: E-Pao Tengbang Lup, Manipur will observe its 9th Foundation Day on July 9 at Saraswati Institute, Pangei.

As part of the event, the Lup will confer the E-Pao Journalist Award 2026 to Naorem Tanoranjan, reporter of Ichel News Network, and Ningthoujam Hemchand Meitei, reporter of Huiyen Lanpao.

The award carries a certificate, memento, shawl and cash.

Tanoranjan has been selected for his contribution in delivering prompt and accurate news to the public, while Hemchand has been recognised for his work in promoting the State's art and culture.

The Lup will also present Meritorious Awards to Class 12 subject toppers of the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur examination.

Music toppers Benao Ayekpam and Yengkhom Tina Chanu of TG Higher Secondary School, Manipuri MIL toppers Takhellambam Kalpana Devi of Comet School and Yohen Longjam of Comprehensive Concept School, and Thang-Ta toppers Phijam Babina Devi, Rajluxmi Moirangthem and Hanglem Kerin of Accent Academy will be honoured.

Marking the Foundation Day and National Doctors Day, the Lup in collaboration with JNIMS Blood Centre organised its 55th voluntary blood donation camp on July 1 under the theme "Leibak Meeyamgidamak Kathoklaba EE" .

The Lup has so far conducted 55 blood donation camps with around 1,200 voluntary donors.

Blood donors who have regularly participated in the camps will also be felicitated during the Foundation Day function.
