25th Manipur State Dental Conference held

The India Dental Association (IDA), Manipur State Branch, marked a significant milestone with its 25th Manipur State Dental Conference (Silver Jubilee) and 3 5 th Annual General Body Meeting at the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Hall in Lamphelpat.
The event brought together dental professionals from the IDA Manipur State Branch and RIMS Dental College to discuss oral health and more.
Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha); Dr B Gokulchandra, president, IDA Manipur State Branch; and Dr N Hemantakumar, Director of Health Services Manipur also graced the event as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bimol Akoijam stressed the importance of preventive dental care, saying people often seek medical help only when problems arise.
He also addressed the current political and security situation in Manipur.
He expressed hope that with the formation of a popular Government, the need for frequent visits to Delhi would decrease, seeing this as a step towards development.
He acknowledged the hardships faced by the public, including difficulties in traveling freely on National Highways and the challenges faced by internally displaced persons (IDPs) in relief camps.
He stressed the need for the public to understand the roles of both the State and Central Governments, particularly regarding the command structure of security forces.
Dr Akoijam urged the Government to work proactively for the people and emphasized dialogue over violence to resolve disagreements, stating that no one should take the law into their own hands.
He further expressed confidence that the current Government would prioritize the welfare of the people.
The conference featured a souvenir release and discussions on healthcare and regional development.
