Bishnupur, October 06 2024: Ningthoukhong Protection Committee and Chingtam Liching Lup jointly organised the 1st State Level Open Debating Competition at Ningthoukhong Municipal Council Ward No 6 community hall today.

The debate was centered around the motion, "The rise of challenges in the integrity of Manipur is due to the bad economic relationship between communities" and addressed ongoing turmoil of Manipur since May 3, 2023 .

Former acting Chairperson of Manipur State Human Rights Commission, Khaidem Mani served as the chief guest and speaker; M Rajen, president, CLL as the president and L Gouragopal, president, NPP as the guest of honour.

Th Roshan from MB College, Sanatombi Laishram from Manipur University and Laishram Sanajaoba from MU secured the first, second and third positions respectively.

The winners received cash prizes of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 along with trophies and certificates respectively.

Additionally, 7 consolation prizes were awarded to the remaining participants.
