KSO-D celebrates silver jubilee

Coming a long way since its formation as a branch of the Kuki Students Organization (KSO) in 1987, the Delhi Kuki Students and community residing in the capital body today celebrated its 25th year.
The auspicious occasion was attended by Oscar Fernandes, MP (RS) and General Secretary of the AICC as Guest of Honour and Thangso Baite, MP (LS) from Outer Manipur Constituency as Jubilee Pa.
Several Delhi based Manipur and North East organizations' representatives, Kuki elders, including Mary Kom were present.
With the theme "know thy roots," various traditional display and presentation of arts and culture marked the event.
Kuki artists, dance troupes and bands enthralled the gathering.

Echoing the call of the KSO Delhi " we shall write our history," Oscar Fernandes acknowledged that India is proud of the war fought against the British by the Kukis.
He told the gathering that Kukis and people of North East should not feel small or inferior, as they have impacted India in various ways and field such as sports and Indian administrative set up.
The KSO had, since its existence been catering to the needs of students in Delhi as support based and playing the role of 'guardianship' in the city.
The student body is an important and key back bone for the community in times of grievance and difficulties faced by the student and community at large in a city like Delhi which has witnessed several cases of harassment, discriminations.
