Many mourn demise of Ratan Thiyam

Imphal, August 04 2025: Condolences continue to pour in from different quarters mourning the untimely demise of theatre icon Ratan Thiyam.

Ratan Thiyam breathed his last on July 23, 2025 at RIMS, Imphal after a prolonged illness.

Today, a solemn event was held at the residence of Late Ratan Thiyam in Uripok.

During the event members of Manipur State Shumang Leela Council (MSSLC) led by general secretary Y Nilachandra.

lifetime president Ph Gunachandra Sharma, president Laishram Tomba and advisor L Tarpon along with artists of MSSLC paid their respect by offering floral tributes to a photograph of Late Ratan Thiyam.

Similarly, All Manipur Music Association (AMMA) also convened a condolence meeting at its office in Palace Compound yesterday to mourn the demise of Ratan Thiyam.

During the meeting, members of the AMMA remembered the contributions made by Ratan Thiyam and observed two minutes of silence to pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.

Moreover, RKCS Museum of Arts & Crafts has also expressed profound sorrow and condolence over the untimely demise of theatre icon Ratan Thiyam.

In his honour, a condolence meeting was held at the premises of RKCS Museum of Arts & Crafts in Keishamthong on August 1 .

During the meeting, members of RKCS Museum of Arts & Crafts shared the grief of the bereaved family and observed two minutes of silence to pray for the departed soul to rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
