SIR 2026 campaign continues across Kakching district

Kakching, August 03 2026: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Roll, 2026, with July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date, continued across Kakching district with training and interaction programmes for election officials and special campaigns for voters.

A training-cum-interaction programme on SIR 2026 and other election-related matters was held for 39-Sugnoo Assembly Constituency at Lairembi Laibung, Waikhong Ningthoumanai, near Waikhong Bazar, on Monday.

Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) attended the programme.

Similarly, a training-cum-meeting programme was conducted for 38-Hiyanglam AC at the Conference Hall of the DC Office.

BLOs of Polling Stations 1 to 18 attended the first session from 11 am to 12.30 pm, while those of Polling Stations 19 to 36 attended the second session from 1 pm to 2.30 pm .

Similar training programmes for BLOs and BLAs of 36-Wabagai and 37-Kakching Assembly Constituencies were also conducted during the last week of July.

Meanwhile, a special campaign related to SIR 2026 and disposal of claims and objections was conducted at polling stations under 39-Sugnoo AC on August 1 and 2.The period for filing claims and objections is from July 5 to August 4, 2026 .

During the campaign, BLOs and BLO Supervisors remained present at their respective polling stations to receive and facilitate claims and objections from eligible voters.

They also carried out verification and assisted electors with issues concerning entries in the electoral roll, including inclusion, correction, deletion and shifting of names as per the provisions of the Registration of Electors Rules.

In addition, a special campaign for the Special Summary Revision of the Photo Electoral Roll, covering all four qualifying dates-January 1, April 1, June 1 and October 1, 2026-was conducted at all polling stations under 36-Wabagai, 37-Kakching and 38-Hiyanglam ACs on August 1 and 2 .

During the campaign, BLOs remained available at their respective polling stations during office hours to receive Form 6 for inclusion of names, Form 7 for deletion of names and Form 8 for correction of entries, replacement of EPIC or shifting of residence.

SVEEP awareness materials, including T-shirts and banners collected from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, were also distributed among eligible electors and first-time voters during the special campaign.
