Imphal, June 02 2025: The Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur has demanded traders to immediately stop engaging in price gouging of essential commodities as floods continue to affect normal life in the State.

A press release issued by Nerish Mangang, secretary, Information & Public Relations, FOCS has urged the Weights and Measures Department to initiate prompt measures to halt the inflation in prices of essential items at a time when flood affected families are facing shortage of necessary daily items including food and water.

FOCS also urged the State authority concerned to ensure that the temporary flood relief camps have adequate stock of food, water and medicines.

On another note, a team led by FOCS president distributed food items and cash to assist flood affected families in different parts of Khurai yesterday.
