Imphal, August 01 2025: Appreciating the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for arresting one of the key accused in the cold blooded massacre of three women and children, a group of people observed candlelight vigil at Uripok Canteen Comer here this evening demanding justice for the victims.

The three women and the three children were butchered in the most gruesome manner by suspected Kuki-Zo-Hmar militants after they were abducted from Jakuradhor, Jiribam.

The candlelight vigil was jointly organised by the Uripok Apunba Lup and the Uripok Apunba Nupi Lup.

Speaking to the media, Uripok Apunba Lup vice-president Khwairakpam Tarunkumar said that all the terrorists involved in the gruesome massacre must be arrested and awarded exemplary punishment.

He also recalled that the people of Uripok staged a relay hunger strike for 79 days demanding justice for the innocent victims.

He said that they filed a PIL at the High Court of Manipur with regard to the bestial massacre.
