"70th Ema Ningsingba Numit Ngakpa Thouram" held

Jiribam, March 01 2026: Thaugan Marup Jaffirbond, Hailakandi organised the "70th Ema Ningsingba Numit Ngakpa Thouram" today at Yaifa Sanglen Thaugan Marup located at Laishramkhun Mamang Leikai.

Association president Nepram Monindra Singha hoisted their flag at 8 am today followed by an offering of floral tribute before "Meitei Ema" .

Moirengjem Chinglen delivered the welcome address.

This was accompanied by a poetry session of Lower Primary and Middle English students.

The observance ceremony was graced by Nepram Monindra Singha, Naorem Bidyasagar, Asem Mani, Kolyan Goswami, Leirenlakpam Champalal, Haobam Manisana and Bimola Sharma, Chongtham Babuton as the presidium members.

The dignitaries lit the ceremonial candles while artists from Jaribond performed cultural/devotional songs on the occasion.

Many books were also released during the solemn event, including "Laibakna Tamba" written by Naorem Indira, "Khanghauba Khara Tahauba Khara" by Subram and poetry book "Karmana Dharmani" by Soram Binota Singha.

Additionally, speakers Naorem Angousana and Dr Ningheiba Meisnam delivered highly impactful speeches.

The event ended with a vote of thanks from Laurembam Joykanta.
