Health camp for pregnant women conducted

As part of Extended- Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (E-PMSMA), District Health Society (DHS), Chandel conducted a health check-up camp at Community Health Centre (CHC), Chakpikarong on Friday.
The camp was part of an outreach programme organised by DHS, Chandel on 28th of every month, under the supervision of Chandel chief medical officer Dr Joyson Matthew Monsang, to provide quality Antenatal Care (ANC) and improve overall health of pregnant women.
During the camp, 46 women were checked under ANC, 14 under ANC first trimester, 10 under high risk pregnancy and 10 women underwent ENT check-up, ultrasound and general medicine consultancy.
The camp was led by CMO Dr Joyson Matthew Monsang and was attended by gynaecologist Dr Ps Shangreihow, sonologist Dr HB Kenhring, general medicine physician Dr Anjalikrishna VR, ENT physician Dr RD Anna Niwarhing, and DHS, Chandel district programme manager Jasha Premi as well as other CHC staff members.
It can be mentioned that CHC Chakpikarong, under E-PMSMA, has been providing screening, identification, line listing and appropriate management of high-risk pregnancies services to pregnant women on 28th of every month.
Free iron-folic acid (IFA) and calcium supplements are also given to the pregnant women at the centre.
