Drainage cleanliness drive carried out at Kakching

Kakching, May 31 2024: MLA of Kakching Assembly Constituency, Mayanglambam Rameshwar has assured to take up all possible measures to clean the drainage systems in Kakching along with the support of the local clubs and organisations to prevent waterclogging or flooding in the region.

The MLA was speaking to media persons at the sidelines of the inspection drive carried out today to check the cleanliness drive of the drainage systems in Kakching.

It is worth noting that the cleaning of drainage systems is being taken up by United Clubs Organisation (UCO) Kakching which is an apex body formed by six local clubs namely Kakching Popular Sporting Club (KPSC), Kakching Town club (KTC), Advance Volunteer Organisation (AVO), Sena Athletes organisation (SAO), Youth Union club (YUC) and Ideal Youth Association (IYA) for the well-being of the residents of the region.

In addition to the cleanliness drive, the encroachers are also being evicted.

The MLA while lauding the initiative taken up by UCO Kakching, has assured to extend all forms of support from his side towards this noble cause.

Highlighting the importance of keeping the drains and water bodies clean to prevent unwanted outcomes like flood, the MLA stated that similar cleanliness measures will be taken up in other parts of the district in association with the local clubs and organisations.
