Free health camp held for Khwairamband Keithel vendors

Imphal, August 30 2026: A Health Camp for welfare of women vendors was organised today at Khwairamband Ema Keithel Mayai.

The camp was jointly organised by Seva Bharati Manipur, MASEL (Manipur Senmit Ehou Lup), City Police Station, National Medicos Organisation Manipur, The Manipur Heart Care Society, Leima Chanu Nawa Tengbang Lup, Saksham Manipur and Bharat Vikas Parishad Manipur.

Facilities including general health check-up, haemoglobin testing, blood sugar and ECG testing were provided along with free medicines and free spectacles.

Speaking in connection with the camp, MASEL president H Nanaocha Meitei said many 'Emas' doing business at the Keithel ignore their ailments due to lack of time to visit the clinic or hospital.

The camp was organised to provide them with a checkup including medicine and gynae.

City Police Station OC L Amitkumar Singh said Emas often neglect health while focusing on livelihood and the free camp was organised jointly keeping their welfare in mind.

Seva Bharati Manipur joint secretary CC Sharma said Emas who cannot leave the market for check-up were considered.

Early detection through such camps can prevent serious diseases.
