8th State-level Edufest kicks off in Ukhrul

The 8th edition of the State-level Education Festival (Edufest) commenced today at the Jubilee Hall of UBC Kamphasom in Ukhrul district.
The inaugural programme began with an invocation led by Homreishang Muinao, youth secretary of TBCA.
Yuimi Vashum, joint secretary of the North East Foundation for Education and Culture (NEFEC), delivered the keynote address, highlighting the importance of Edufest in providing students a platform to showcase their skills and talents.
She emphasized that the festival seeks to encourage fair competition and foster a learning environment that goes beyond conventional examinations.
Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Asish Das, who also chairs the Edufest Managing Committee, inspired the gathering by urging students to use the opportunity to realize their dreams and potential.
He described Edufest as "a platform to create their destination".
The DC also presented a PowerPoint on the "Ukhrul Vision" project, aimed at promoting development and positive transformation in the district.
This year's Edufest features a variety of competitions, including quiz, extempore speech, spelling bee, creative writing, painting, cultural show, choreography, and acapella performances, with 21 schools from Ukhrul and Kamjong districts participating in the event.
The inaugural programme was attended by DFO, Ukhrul Gitla Laishram; CEO ADC, Ukhrul, David Kashungnao; ZEO Ukhrul.
