Imphal, September 29 2026: Special Commando Unit, Khabeisoi arrested Waikhom Sena (24), president of the Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) Imphal East yesterday.

Waikhom Sena hails from Luwangsangbam Mamang Leikai, Imphal East district.

Police said Waikhom Sena is an alleged active member of the proscribed group NRFM.

As an "active member" of the NRFM, Sena was allegedly drafting and publishing articles on behalf of the party on social media and dailies, and was involved in unauthorised money transactions, said the police.

With his arrest, police said they have recovered alleged extorted money amounting to Rs 2,67,500 and one Apple MacBook, used for drafting articles and press of the NRFM .
