Imphal, August 29 2024: Thawai Mirel has expressed reservations against the attempt made by the security forces to arrest village volunteers who have been at the forefront fighting against the atrocities of Kukis.

In a release, Thawai Mirel asserted that since the conflict began on May 3, 2023, many youths have been working tirelessly to defend the integrity of Manipur and protect innocent civilians from the atrocities of armed Kuko narco-terrorists.

Thawai Mirel also asserted that the threat posed by these narco-terrorists to Manipur's integrity is actually a threat to India's integrity & national security, and the youths who volunteered to protect Manipur from these narco-terrorists are fighting for the Nation.

Further, Thawai Mirel urged the Government of India and the State Government to stop harassing these youths and instead honour their bravery and sacrifice by presenting them the Gallantry Award.
