Imphal, October 28 2008: Based on specific information, troops of 34 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) established mobile check post in general area of Thoubal Moijing and apprehended one PULF (MI Khan) cadre yesterday.

According to PRO Assam Rifles, the arrested individual has been identified as SS Sgt Md Farooq Shah alias Khamba alias Bamba alias Simtey Ahmed (21) s/o late Md Shamshur Jaman of Thoubal Moijing.

One Chinese made hand grenade with detonator have been recovered from the apprehendee, the PRO informed, adding that the individual alongwith the recovered items have been handed over to Thoubal PS today.

In another incident, troops of the same unit launched operation in general area of Wangjing and apprehended one KYKL cadre today.

The individual has been identified as SS Cpl Paonam Khamba (50) s/o late Paonam Thambal Angao of Wangjing Wangkhai, the PRO further said, adding that the individual has been handed over to Thoubal Police Station.
