Imphal, September 27 2026: The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal organised a Tree Plantation Programme under "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" today as part of Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 campaign observed from September 17 to October 2 under the theme "Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat" .

The programme held opposite the Director's Quarter along the road towards SIB Road, RIMS, was graced by Director Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Medical Superintendent Prof N Sanjib Singh, Principal Dental College, HoDs, faculty and staff.

The drive aimed at promoting cleanliness, enhancing green cover and encouraging community participation.

As part of the same campaign, RIMS also organised a Health Camp at Wangjing Khunou, Wangoo Lamkhai, opposite Police Outpost in Kakching district.

A team of doctors and paramedical staff provided consultations, medical advice and free medicines.

RIMS said both programmes reflect its commitment to integrating environmental responsibility with community health.
