Holding the school authority Hundred Flowers English Hr Secondary School responsible for missing Md Rohit alias Lemba and giving August 30 as the deadline for producing the student and handing him over to his family members, the JAC formed in this connection has decided to call a 24-hour State-wide general strike with effect from midnight of August 30 if the demand is not met.
Among others, a resolution to this effect was adopted during a public meeting convened by JAC against the missing of Md Rohit alias Lemba at the complex of Madrassa in Mayang Imphal Bengoon Mayai Leikai today afternoon.
While appealing to all concerned for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of the missing boy or whether he had been abducted by any person or group, the meeting also demanded cancellation of the affiliation of the school and giving compensation to the family of the missing boy.
It was also decided that the resolutions adopted would be brought to the notice of the Chief Minister, Education Minister, local MLA and all other concerned individuals and groups.
Meanwhile, All Mayang Imphal Muslim Youth Development Organisation, Young Development Association (Mayang Imphal Bengoon Maning Leikai), Young Star Club (Mayang Imphal Bengoon Awang Leikai), Young Pioneer Club (Mayang Imphal Bengoon Mamang Leikai) and Social Welfare Club have announced their decision of supporting the agitation launched by the JAC in connection with the missing student.
Md Rohit alias Lemba s/o Yakub Ali of Mayang Imphal Bengoon Mamang Loukon but staying at Hatta Golapati Maning Leikai, is studying class VIII in Hundred Flowers English Higher Secondary School.
He had gone to attend class on August 19.But after a teacher beat him up and chased him out from the class in the first period, his whereabouts has not been known.
