MU's EMRC bags awards at CEC Film Festival

The Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC) at Manipur University has achieved significant national acclaim by securing two prestigious awards at the annual CEC Film Festival.
The two-day event, organised by the Consortium for Educational Communication, concluded recently at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
As per a release issued by EMRC, the centre's creative excellence was highlighted in two distinct categories.
"Unseen Tears", produced by EMRC technician Kongbrailatpam Geetchandra Shanna, won Best Short Film.
The judges lauded the film for its powerful storytelling and emotional depth.
The Best Editing award went to freelance editor Yaikhom Herojit Singh for "A Secret Life: Ginger Rhizome" .
Produced by EMRC Production Assistant Dr Ch Sanjita Devi, the documentary was noted for its technical finesse and creative handling of the subject.
The festival drew entries from EMRCs and media professionals across India.
EMRC officials said the awards reflect the production unit's commitment, creativity and collaborative spirit.
They hoped the recognition would motivate young filmmakers and media professionals in the region.
Students and the academic community at Manipur University welcomed the news, calling it a milestone for the institution in educational media and documentary filmmaking.
