International Manipuri Short Story Festival kicks off

Dr Muhammad Mosharrof Hossain, DC, Sylhet on Sunday inaugurated the 3-day long International Manipuri Short Story Festival 2022 at the conference hall of Zilla Parishad, Court Point in Sylhet.
The festival was jointly organised by Bangladesh Manipuri Sahitya Sangsad, Sylhet and Manipuri Short Story Society, India.
The inaugural ceremony was kicked off with a presentation of the national anthem of Bangladesh by members of Bangladesh Manipuri Sahitya Sangsad, Sylhet and Manipuri Short Story Society, India.
As a part of the festival, the Sinam Tanubabu Memorial International Award 2022 was handed over to Mutum Ramani Devi from Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai for her book "Fongngamdraba Cheinakhol" and Manipuri Short Story Society, India's Rajkumar Sitaljit Memorial Award 2022 (Lifetime Achievement Award) was conferred to noted Bangladeshi writer AK Seram.

Dr Muhammad Mosharrof Hossain also release Manipuri Short Story Society, India's "Panthung Tamna", a compilation of short stories and books penned by Usharani and Lairenlakpam Ngouba.
Speaking on the occasion, AK Seram stated that the goal of the festival was to demonstrate the quality and advancement of Manipuri short stories and to encourage collaborative work between Indian short story writers and Bangladeshi writers.
Dr Nahakpam Arun also moderated a symposium on the topic "Manipuri wari macha gi khongchat amasung thak Bangladesh/Assam/Manipur" .
Later, 26 writers from Manipur, Assam and Bangladesh presented their short stories in two separate sessions.
