Workshop on Prime Minister's National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme organised

Bishnupur, September 25 2026: A workshop on the Prime Minister's National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) was organised by the Directorate of Craftsmen Training, Manipur under SLEE Department Government of Manipur on Thursday at INA Hall, Moirang.

The workshop was held with the objective of creating greater awareness about apprenticeship opportunities and promoting the engagement of apprentices by establishments in the State.

The programme was attended by Longjam Subhaschandra Singh, Joint Director, Directorate of Craftsmen Training (DCT), Manipur; Masotmi Zimik, State Engagement Officer, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Thiyam Sarat Singh, Principal, Government ITI, Ningthoukhong, presided over the programme, said a press note by DCT.

The workshop was attended by members of the District Skill Committee (DSC), representatives of various establishments, higher secondary schools, colleges and other stakeholders.

The participants were briefed on the objectives and benefits of PM-NAPS, the apprenticeship engagement process, and the role of establishments and other stakeholders in providing apprenticeship opportunities to eligible youth in Manipur.

The workshop provided an interactive platform for participants to discuss issues relating to apprenticeship engagement, registration, verification and other implementation-related matters.

The Directorate of Craftsmen Training, Manipur, under SLEE Department Government of Manipur reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening apprenticeship promotion activities across the State in coordination with the District Skill Committees, establishments, educational institutions, NSDC and other stakeholders.
