AMGSU celebrates 58th foundation day

Imphal, September 25 2025: The All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) observed its 58th foundation day today at the Community Hall, Kanglatongbi.

The celebration also featured the presentation of the Madan Kumar Limbu Memorial One Time Girls Scholarship, 2025, along with felicitation for outstanding achievements by Gorkha students and youths.

The program conducted by Homnath Chapagain, commenced with a welcome speech by Sabina Dahal, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, the National Anthem, and a one-minute silence in memory of the departed members of the organisation.

A highlight of the event, was the presentation of the 3rd Late Madan Kumar Limbu Memorial Girls' Special Scholarship 2025.instituted by AMGSU, which was awarded to Rasmit Rai, Shreyas Khawas, Roma Basnet, Pumima Nesur Tamang and Sanja Yonjan.

The award includes a memento and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each.

The event also featured felicitation of achievers in various fields, including NEET, CDS, Sports, Education, Yoga, Karate and meritorious students who secured outstanding marks in the Higher Secondary Examination, as well as recipients of the Yuva Bharat Gaurav Samman.

As part of the celebration, prizes were also distributed to the winners of the Quiz Competition organised by the Kanglatongbi Unit of the AMGSU.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation and was graced by representatives of several eminent Gorkha organisations from across Manipur, who commended the Union's contribution towards empowering Gorkha youth and fostering educational excellence.
