AMGSU observes 57th foundation day

The All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) observed its 57th foundation day today at Community Hall, Kanglatongbi accompanied by felicitation of meritorious individuals.
The event was graced by Meena Bista, Pradhan.
Kanglatongbi GP as chief guest; LB Adhikari, president, AMGSU as functional president; Mani Kumar Limbu, Principal, The Roses English School; Gopal Limbu, Principal, The Froebel English School, State Teacher Awardee 2024; Binod Kumar Sharma, Headmaster, Irang Part-2 Government High School and Indra Kumar Bista, Headmaster Kalapahar High School as guests of honour, as per a statement issued by Homnath Chapagain, publicity secretary, AMGSU.
During the ceremony, Akash Thapa Magar of Thaldara Irang Part-I, Nepali subject State topper in HSSLC Examination 2024 and Rosy Rai of 9th Mile Poudel Basti Irang Part-I, HSSLC Hindi Subject topper were felicitated.
Additionally, Shri Madan Kumar Limbu One Time Girls Scholarship Award, 2024 was also given to six Gorkha girls, namely, Rekha Khadka and Kritika Chhetry of Goma Devi High School Toribari; Soniya Bhujel of T Waichong High School and Anu Bhujel, Sarita Gautam and Priyanka Basnet of Hindi Secondary School Kanglatongbi.
They cleared the HSLC Examination, 2023 from Government schools.
The scholarship award comes with a cash amount of Rs 10,000 each sponsored by Gopal Limbu, son of Madan Kumar Limbu.
During the event, different exemplary personalities who achieved success in various exams/fields like NEET, SSC UPSC, NORCET, sports and others achievers from Gorkha community of the State were also felicitated.
Madeem Basnet (Kanglatongbi Mandir), Avinash Pokhrel (Motbung Gorkha), Suraj Mishra (Kanglatongbi), Sobha Uprety (Ukhrul Bazar), Sajan Kumar Dahal (Dwarika Leimakhong), Bishrut Bastola (Kalapahar), Partik Dahal (a young international Karate and Kata gold medalist) Leimakhong, Sidharth Rana (Pangei Nepali Basti), Ajay Chhetri, Bijay Chhetry, (Kanglatongbi Hatikhuwa), Dillu Lagun (Kalapahar), Anil Limbu (Kanglatongbi, Hatikhuwa), Anuska Rai (Kanglatongbi Shantipur), Binod Kumar Sharma (Kanglatongbi Shantipur), Devi Prasad Thapa (Kanglatongbi Mandir), Indra Kumar Bista (Charhajare), Yuva Sahitya Akademi Awardee 2024 Suraj Chapagain (Kanglatongbi Tispari), Sagar Acharya (Kanglatongbi Mandir), Ritik Gautam (Maram Bazar), Prem Prasad Shivakoti (Kanglatongbi Vijaynagar), Nitesh Sedai (Charhajare), Inspector Custom Dept Gyanendra Vikram Alley (Koirengei) and Saroj Sapkota (Prasain Village) were felicitated in appreciation of their achievement in different fields in the past year.
AMGSU also acknowledged numerous blood donors who saved many lives during hard times.
The Union further appealed all the communities of the State to join hands to bring peace and normalcy in the State.
It urged the Central and State Government to make efforts to restore peace in Manipur.
