Kamjong District VDF Welfare Association appeals

Ukhrul, July 25 2024: The Kamjong District VDF Welfare Association has appealed to the State Govemment to rescind the recent Cabinet's decision on the 'Inter-District Transfer and Posting of VDF personnel' .

A joint press statement issued by the president and secretary of Kamjong VDF Welfare Association stated that the Cabinet's decision is against the interest of the VDF personnel in the State who have been assigned full time duties and assignments for the past 15 years in par with the other forces in regular service.

The association urged the Government to prioritise in addressing the pressing issues of VDF personnel and the long pending demands of the VDF in the State to increase their monthly honorarium and other basic entitlements rather than focusing on the transfer and posting.

Highlighting that the VDF personnel are actively involved in maintaining law and order in the State, the association appealed to the State Government to expedite the process of materialising the long pending demands of the VDF personnel.

The association stressed that it has become extremely difficult for the VDF personnel to make ends meet with just their meagre monthly honorarium in view of the increasing rate of inflation and other expenditure.

Furthermore, the Kamjong District VDF Welfare Association resolved to extend full support to the decision and activities of All Manipur VDF Employee Welfare Association Central Committee in case the Government fails to fulfil the demands of VDF personnel.
