Kamjong district celebrates 10 years of BBBP scheme

Kamjong, February 25 2025: The District Administration Kamjong today organised an awareness programme on "Still Development", as part of the 10 years celebration of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme at SDO Office, Kamjong headquarter.

The event was organised with the support and supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Kamjong, Rangnamei Rang Peter, IAS.

The event was attended by Hungyo Yurreikan, SDC Kamjong, Themreiyo T Awungshi, General Manager, DIC Ukhrul & Kamjong district and K Prem, District in-charge, MSRLM Kamjong as resource persons.

The event was aimed to introduce and sensitize the community of Kamjong, especially tribal women on skill development.

At the event, Themreiyo T Awungshi, stressed on "Promoting women through skill development" .

He also introduced Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME), PM Vishwakarma, Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Schemes provided by the Govt of India.

He emphasized on the importance of skilling amongst the women and the public in general and how it could significantly help in generating livelihood.

Women attending the program were also made aware of the topic "Promoting Sustainable Livelihoods for Tribal Women" by K Prem, District in-charge, MSRLM, Kamjong.

He made aware of SelfHelp Group (SHG), mutual aid, self-reliance, and collective empowerment.

As part of the programme, Pamphlets regarding schemes were distributed and a tree plantation drive was taken up at SDO office compound.

The event was also attended by village headmen of Bungpa Khullen, Ningthi village, Kangpat Khunou village.

Church Pastor, SHG from MSRLM, staff from CSC, and over 200 participants attended the programme.
