Noney, September 24 2024: A memorandum has been submitted to Chief Minister N Biren Singh seeking the Government's attention and positive response by September 27 in connection with the reported burning of four Rongmei Naga houses on May 4, 2023 .

The memorandum was submitted through Noney DC by four persons from the Rongmei community whose homes were allegedly burnt, namely, G Chunthailung, s/o G Gaigong; Tiganlung Rongmei, s/o Jenipou Rongmei; K Paoshing, s/o K Ningthou and Pougongrei Gangmei, s/o Singonglung Gangmei from National Game Village, Langol, Imphal.

The memorandum complained that though due process has been initiated by the Government of Manipur, there is still no sign of the Government reaching out to the victim families till date.

Serving the 4-day ultimatum, the memorandum has threatened to launch democratic forms of agitation if there is no prompt and positive response.
