Jessami villagers laud NHIDCL, HVS

Ukhrul, April 23 2025: The villagers of Jessami have expressed their contentment on completion of NH-202 Phase-VIII portion of work that connects Jessami to Akash bridge under Ukhrul district.

Speaking to the media, Jessami Village Council secretary, Asset Wezah expressed gratitude to executing agency NHIDCL and contractor Huidrom Vikramjit Singh (HVS Construction Pvt Ltd) for keeping their word and completing the road stretch within the given time frame as per the work order.

Meanwhile, site engineer, Shivam Gaur stated that the construction work which began in Feb 2023 was able to be completed on time this year due to the support and cooperation of the Jessami villagers.

"The NHIDCL technical team monitored the construction work by regularly conducting the test such as grade compaction test, extraction bitumen test, aggregate impact value, etc in order to ensure that work quality is maintained without any compromisation," said Shivam Gaur.

The third party tests were also conducted to assure that work specification fulfilled the criteria approved by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) of Highway construction.

Notably, amongst the many highway construction works in Ukhrul district, the road stretch from Jessami to Akash was found to be the only portion that were declared completed till date.
