Thawai Mirel calls on indigenous communities to unite

Imphal, February 23 2025:
All indigenous communities must unite to save Manipur's integrity, said Thawai Mirel Women Wing convenor Paonam Sanahanbi today.
She made this statement at a public meeting held at Thamnapokpi Mayai Leikai, Imphal East today.
The public meeting was organised under the banner "Ema Leibakkidamak Eikhoi Punna Hingminnakhisi" .
Speaking at the meeting, she asserted that Manipur at present is facing a carefully calculated war that is threatening to undermine the State's integrity.
By imposing the President's Rule, the Government of India has removed an elected Government and broken the backbone of the State, she asserted.
The threats Manipur is facing today calls for unity among all indigenous communities, she said.
The gathering observed a 2-minute silence as a mark of respect for people who sacrificed their lives protecting the State's integrity.
Thawai Mirel donated mattresses and edible items to Meira Paibis of Yaingangpokpi, Sabungkhok Khunou, Thamnapokpi and Sanasabi.
