AR pays homage to 59 fallen heroes of 1962 Indo-China War

Assam Rifles held two solemn ceremonies in Moreh under Tengnoupal district on October 20 and 21 to honor the supreme sacrifices of 59 brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the Indo-China War in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.
The 59 soldiers were martyred on October 20 and 21 in 1962, as per a press note issued by IGAR (S).
The release noted that these soldiers exemplified unmatched courage, loyalty, and camaraderie in the face of overwhelming odds, embodying the highest traditions of Assam Rifles.
It added that their legacy is etched in the annals of history, serving as a beacon of inspiration for future generations.
The ceremonies included a heartfelt wreath-laying followed by motivational speeches that recounted the heroic acts of these soldiers.
Over 300 Assam Rifles personnel participated in the ceremony, offering a Guard of Honour as a mark of respect.
