Imphal, September 22 2026: The Manipur Naga Youth Organisation (MNYO) has claimed that there has been no significant improvement in the allocation of works and development opportunities for Naga bureaucrats, even though a popular State Government was formed seven months ago.

In a letter addressed to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, the Youth Organisation maintained that more than 90 per cent of Manipur's geographical area is covered by hills, where greater focus needs to be placed on development and addressing the grievances of the people.

It stated that bureaucrats from the hill districts are better placed to understand and effectively address such issues.

Claiming that several Naga IAS and MCS officers, however, have been posted to some "insignificant" offices, the MNYO urged the Governor to intervene and ensure that postings are made in a more judicious and transparent manner.
