RK Kamaljit Singh to be conferred Takhel Ratna Award posthumously

Imphal, June 22 2026: The Manipuri Literacy and Cultural Forum, Tripura, has announced that noted social activist RK Kamaljit Singh will be conferred the "Takhel Ratna Award (Posthumous)" in recognition of his dedication and contributions towards the Manipuri society.

According to a release issued by Manipuri Literacy and Cultural Forum, the award will be presented to the family members of RK Kamaljit during a special function scheduled to be held at Sukanth Academy, Agartala, on July 26 .

The programme will be jointly organised by the Manipuri Literacy and Cultural Forum, Tripura, and Takhellei Tengbang Lup (Takhel Leima).

The award carries a shawl, citation, memento, cash award of Rs 5,000 and other gifts.

A joint meeting of the two organisations held on Sunday unanimously resolved to honour RK Kamjaljit Singh posthumously for his dedication, commitment and sacrifices made for the welfare of Manipuri society.

The award to be presented for the second time is being donated by social activist Konthoujam Ongbi Shriti Sharma of New Delhi.
