CAU Imphal wraps up faculty training on "Natural Farming"

A ten-day Faculty Training Programme on "Bio-inputs Mastering in Natural Farming" successfully concluded at the College of Agriculture, Iroisemba, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal.
The programme, conducted from March 10 to March 19, 2026, aimed to strengthen sustainable agricultural practices among academic professionals in Manipur.
The initiative brought together 25 faculty participants from 13 constituent colleges, aiming to equip them with indepth knowledge of eco-friendly farming techniques that address climate change challenges while simultaneously enhancing soil health and productivity.
The comprehensive curriculum featured 14 theoretical lectures and 11 hands-on practical sessions.
Key focus areas included integrated farming systems, carbon sequestration, and the scientific validation of traditional organic formulations.
Participants received specialized instruction on the preparation and application of essential bio-inputs such as Jeevamrit, Ghan Jeevamrut and Beejamrit, which are integral to natural farming practices.
11 renowned experts from various parts of the country led the sessions, offering valuable insights into both traditional knowledge systems and modem scientific approaches.
Demonstrations on laboratory techniques for nutrient analysis further enriched the learning experience.
As part of the programme, participants engaged in field visits to natural farming sites, where they observed practical implementations of chemical-free pest management strategies, methods for maintaining soil health, and circular economy principles in agriculture.
The event concluded with a valedictory ceremony, cementing a collective commitment to promoting regenerative agriculture within the region's educational and farming communities.
