St Joseph College Ukhrul inaugurates College Week 2024

Ukhrul, October 21 2024:
St Joseph College, Ukhrul, marked the inauguration of its College Week 2024 with a grand ceremony held on Monday.
The event was graced by Rev Dr Linus Neli DD, Archbishop of Imphal and other heads of catholic institutions from the neighbourhood.
The week-long celebration opened with a welcome address by Principal Fr Dr Parvis John.
He highlighted the significance of College Week as an opportunity for students to showcase their talents in various fields, including sports, cultural activities, and academic competitions.
In his inauguration speech, chief guest Rev Dr Linus Neli DD commended the institution for its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.
He encouraged the young minds to strive for excellence not only in academics but also in values, urging them to be responsible citizens and contribute to the welfare of society.
He also congratulated the management and the faculty members for producing toppers in university examinations conducted by the Manipur University.
The inauguration was followed by a Rongmei traditional harvest song and dance by the students and faculty members followed by a cover of Shakira's "Waka Waka" by Nimyophy Mahung.
Competitions such as choir, duet, declamation, choreography were held as well.
Various literary competitions, sports events, and cultural performances are scheduled throughout the week.
Fr Joseph Thohrii delivered the vote of thanks.
The College Week 2024 is set to conclude on October 26 with a closing ceremony and prize distribution for the winners of the various events.
