Imphal, September 21 2025:
The People's Alliance for Peace & Progress, Manipur (PAPPM) has expressed its profound sorrow at the tragic killing of two and the injuring of five Assam Rifles personnel in Nambol on September 19, 2025."We stand with the bereaved families in this painful hour and extend our heartfelt condolences.
Every life lost - be it of security personnel, members of armed groups, or civilians-is a grievous loss to the people of Manipur, hence India and to humanity", said PAPPM in a release.
PAPPM asserted that as a people's platform, the organisation unequivocally opposed all forms of violence and killing, whether perpetrated by armed opposition groups or by security forces.
"We are deeply concerned that such incidents may also be engineered or exploited to derail any prospects of peaceful dialogue by interested parties.
Violence has brought nothing but misery, fear, and division.
It has never resolved grievances, nor will it secure a just and peacefill future for our people", it added.
PAPPM also strongly condemned the attempts of certain vested interests to associate such incidents with an entire community.
"Collective blame only intensifies mistrust, widens divisions, and pushes people further apart.
No community should be vilified for the actions of a few.
Such narratives are not only dangerous and unjust but also undermine the shared aspiration for peace and harmony in Manipur", it asserted.
Reaffirming its conviction that the only meaningful path forward is through political dialogue, PAPPM emphasized that dialogue is neither weakness nor compromise - it is an act of courage and responsibility.
"It is the only way to address grievances, heal wounds, and build the foundations of a durable political solution.
Without dialogue, the cycle of violence will only continue to consume precious lives and perpetuate suffering", it added.
PAPPM appealed to all sides to renounce violence, place human life above conflict, and commit to the path of dialogue and reconciliation.
PAPPM also urged both the Government of India and armed opposition groups to take immediate, sincere, and inclusive steps toward a genuine political process.
"Only through such collective resolve can we restore peace, harmony, and dignity to every citizen of Manipur and hence the Nation", concluded PAPPM .
