Udyam registration drive promotes entrepreneurship in Phungyar block

Ukhrul, April 20 2026:
A one-day Udyam registration drive-cum-awareness programme for villages under Phungyar block was successfully conductedatthe MYB Conference Hall, Hamleikhong, Ukhrul, with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship and creating awareness about the benefits of UDYAM registration.
District Horticulture Officer of Ukhrul and Kamjong, Ransing Koireng, attended the programme as the chief guest.
In his address, he emphasised the need for greater participation in Udyam registration, particularly among individuals interested in starting or expanding business ventures.
General Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC), Ukhrul and Kamjong, Themreiyo T Awungshi, who presided over the function, highlighted various government support schemes and financial assistance available to entrepreneurs.
He noted that individuals registered under UDYAM could access benefits such as easier loan facilities, subsidised interest rates, priority sector lending, and credit guarantee provisions aimed at supporting startups and small businesses.
Resource person S Angam, District Fishery Officer of Ukhrul and Kamjong, delivered a session on "MSMEs and allied Agri products stressing the importance of promoting organic local products for sustainable livelihoods.
She also mentioned the importance of MSME and financial institutions.
Rita A Shimray, Mentor, Entrepreneurs, Ukhrul and Kamjong, delivered a presentation on the 'Role of Women in MSMEs' and 'Speedy Industrialisation in the district' .
During the technical session, more than 40 individuals were registered under UDYAM .
The event was organised under the Raising and Accelerating of MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme, with the objective of encouraging sustainable business development and empowering local entrepreneurs in the district.
