MU NSS team leave Imphal for National Integration Camp

Imphal, January 20 2025:
A National Service Scheme (NSS) team of Manipur University, Canchipur left Imphal today to participate in the prestigious National Integration Camp (NIC) at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam.
The camp, scheduled from January 21 to 27, 2025, is organised by the Assam Agricultural University with the aim to promote national unity, cultural diversity, and the spirit of service among India's youth.
Representing the state of Manipur, the contingent consisted of 10 NSS volunteers drawn from Manipur University and its affiliated colleges, carefully selected from various NSS units.

Assistant Professor in the Department of Dance and Music and Program Officer of NSS Unit-II, Manipur University, will lead the delegation as the designated team leader.
According to a release issued by Dr Laishram Santosh Singh, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell Manipur University, the National Integration Camp (NIC) serves as a vital platform to nurture a sense of patriotism, social harmony, and inclusivity among India's youth.
Through interactive programs and activities, the camp aims to celebrate India's cultural richness, instill national pride, and encourage youth to contribute actively to the nation's progress.
In addition to the NIC delegation, a MYBharat NSS volunteers team from Manipur University also departed today to participate as special guests at the Republic Day Parade 2025 in New Delhi on January 26, 2025.This significant initiative, spearheaded by MYBharat, under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, is designed to empower Indian youth by fostering social mobility, addressing educational disparities, and equipping them with practical life skills.
Earlier today, Prof N Lokendra Singh, Vice Chancellor, Manipur University formally flagged off the teams from the University's premises at 10:00 am.
Extending his best wishes to the participants, the VC encouraged them to uphold the values of dedication and teamwork, making their participation impactful and meaningful.
Notably, the dual representation of Manipur at two national events underscore the dynamic role of youth in shaping India'p future.
The efforts are being driven by Dr Laishram Santosh Singh under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor, Manipur University and in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
