Farmers' field day at Ukhrul

Imphal, October 18 2011: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ukhrul under the aegis of ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, organised a farmers field day programme on rice RC Maniphou 11 at Tainem village yesterday.

Released by Central Seed Committee in 2010, the variety having a yield potential of 5.5-6t/ha is suitable for mid altitudes.

Developed by crossing IR-24 X Prasad the rice variety is tolerant to neck blast.

Around 100 farmers attended the programme, said a press release.
